Marcia Brownlee, PCLC

Trust, Curiosity and Collaboration
Marcia's approach to therapy is integrative, evidence-based, and grounded in the belief that healing begins in relationship—with ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us. Marcia draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Person-Centered Therapy, focusing on psychological flexibility, emotional acceptance, and a more compassionate relationship with one’s inner voice.
As a grounded and steady presence, Marcia honors the reality and pain of each person’s life experience. She partners with clients to clarify what matters most, explore internal challenges, and reduce the impact of thoughts, emotions, or patterns that may be keeping them stuck. When needed, she offers compassionate, honest reflection to help clients become more aware of their habits—and to support intentional change aligned with their values. Her sessions blend deep listening and emotional safety with practical skill-building, offering space to process what’s hard and develop tools to support real-life growth.
Before becoming a counselor, Marcia spent over 20 years in the field of education and leadership. This experience informs her understanding of the human capacity for growth—especially in the face of stress, uncertainty, or transition.
Therapy can be hard work—and it can also include moments of humor, joy, and relief. Marcia shows up with authenticity and care, creating space where all parts of your experience are welcome. Whether you're navigating loss, anxiety, burnout, identity shifts, or simply seeking a more connected life, she offers therapy that is both relational and practical—steadfastly on your team, supporting you in making room for what’s hard while building a life that feels more connected, intentional, and meaningful.
